Starting 2026

Happy New Year! I wish you a 2026 filled with happiness, health, strength, and confidence. May your wishes come true, and may you start each day with new energy and a smile. Here’s to a year full of successes and beautiful moments!

So before the new year gets away ;) … let’s take a look back at 2025.

Q3 + Q4

Progress & Finishes

The second half of 2025 was foremost filled with moving-related things. I applied for a new apartment in July, and my move was in early September. I hope you would like to see a few pictures? I am contemplating adding some in the next check-in ;)

Placing furniture and unboxing went well, but the decisions for newly needed or to-be-replaced items took a lot longer. And while I can add paint or wallpaper or other decoration ;) I can not mount lamps, curtain rods, towel racks …

I am very grateful for all the help I received!

Finished: “More Diagonals”
started Q3/2023

Nonetheless, I managed to finish the “More Diagonals” quilt. You can even see a peek at the spot where I want my new design wall to be…

New: Twinkling Triangles
started Q4/2025

And we did the 2025 Advent calendar mystery sew-along. I am sorry it went a bit bumpier than I intended – cut finger in an already short time frame and all.

So my first goal for 2026 is also clear: I will finish the full pattern version to distribute. Thank you for your patience!

So let’s update that WIP list…

A more than long-overdue project. The recipient either forgot about it or calls me names by now.

No. 12 – Advent Calendar Swap gift

Due to my deep finger cut I did not manage to sent the gift to my swap partner. This is also one of the early 2026 goals!

Review

2025 started of with a good focus on my goals. Then the move did put a break on most of them. I am happy with how much I squished in – and yes, it really was the wrinkled and distorted version at some point and for some goals.

Enjoy!

#2026QuiltingPlanningParty

I was sorry to read that Yvonne is discontinuing the quilt planning party. I love the regular check-ins and will continue… for myself or with a link-up. We will see :)

I am keeping most of my goals and structure while also gamifying one section and generalizing another. What do I mean by that?

Bingo Card

I saw Debbie @ A Quilters Table post a bingo goal card. She saw it here, and it has been going around online for at least a few years. It sounded fun!

But it wouldn’t work for how I (like to) structure my goals. But it felt perfect to make my pattern updating goal more fun. It was always overwhelming to me, and when I feel that way, I tend to bury my head in the sand instead of doing. I already thought about that big “chunk” of a goal a few months back and tried to break it down. So I took that one step further and divided it into 24 new sub-goals to place on the bingo card. If you want to join in, you can use the template used in the links above.

I designed my own version. And did the rough draft and shuffling with the Bingo Card Creator website.

Focus Phrase

Have you ever picked One Word for a year? I tried, but it didn’t work for me. However, I am currently stuck on One Phrase that fits well with a lot of my personal aspirations: “Make Yourself Proud”.

I will try it for a while and see if it works for me – this time. I can always go back to subgoals like weight, fitness, finances, mindset…

What I like about it is that it might give me options to pick a current focus. For now, that is “get things done” :)

I have already added it to the lock screen of my phone to have a frequent reminder.

  1. I’m glad that the move went so smoothly; that can definitely make it hard to be creative when so much energy is needed to pack and unpack. It was really fun to follow along with your Advent Mystery this year, and I’m glad Debbie was able to step in to help. I hope that your phrase helps you find the focus you desire this year, and I wish you all the best in 2026. Thanks for linking up (and please, feel free to host the linkups moving forward)!
