Inspiration: This quilt – which is why I often call this quilt my “Sunset Quilt”
Technique: Traditional piecing & “controlled improv”

Fabrics: various prints and solids from stash, approx. 32 FQ
Quilting Design: pantograph Baptist Sunrise done by longarmer Rachel @ Stitched in Color
Binding: by machine to front and back, including decorative zig-zag stitching

Size: approx. 60 × 80 inches (155 × 208 cm)
Block Size: 4″ finished

I calculate costs using my Quilt Price Calculator: factors include the size & pieces mentioned above, the presets for a twin quilt, plus 16 euros extra for the pattern.

To be fair, I do not remember when I checked the exchange rates or the presets on the calculator, so there is probably something “not up to date” there.

Also, the normal theory of factor 2 and 3 sales prices does not apply here, because I “subcontracted” the quilting part. And the theory accounts for the piecing AND quilting work.

A different solution for this situation might be to use the sum from factor 2 and add the additional longarm cost: 447.60 + 180.00 = 627.60 €.

Interestingly, the versions are pretty close together here.
