WIP Wednesday: Snapshots 3

15. Juli 2015 6 Comments

my latest progress

Although I might be better off preparing other stuff, I am currently totally fixated on finishing my smaller, older WIPs from my List für Q3.

So after getting back on Sunday from a choir competition I basted and quilted the first baby quilt from the two drunkards path.

I tried some – for me new – wavy line quilting and I’m generally pleased with it. At some places I had problems with the stitch length, probably I wasn’t paying enough attention, moving too fast and/ or haven’t set up the walking foot correctly. But it’s just in some places and for it going to be a charity baby quilt, I do not mind it being not totally perfect. Done is better than perfect :)

The last days I attached the label, squared it up and cut some binding strips. At this pace I am confident to have it finished at the weekend. #yeahhh

I really like your drunkard’s path. It’s got such a wide range of colors but it still feels very balanced. Can I ask where you got your tags with your name and washing / care instructions?

I designed my labels myself in a graphic program and had them printed on cotton fabric by the German company Stoff-Schmiede. The company is like spoonflower. I just iron them on (double sided adhesive/ vlies) and sew around with a zig zag stich for good meassure.
