Reviewing The First Quarter

After MONTHS of standstill in the sewing room … I am finally back. Whoohoo!

It also helped A LOT that I am just having two weeks of staycation. I finally found time and sewjo again and am sooooo happy :)

Sewing Progress

Progress & Finishes

Finished: Advent Calendar Swap Gift
started Q1/2026

Due to my deep finger cut, I did not manage to send the gift to my swap partner. I am very grateful that my partner, Daniela @dani.backhaus, was very understanding.

This was one of my early 2026 goals, and I am happy to tell you that it got finished. Whoohoo!

Progress: Tambo Star

I “accidently” finished this top while putting the blocks up on my new design wall.

At first I just challenged myself to only put “block” units up on the wall instead of the floppy or single units I had transported during my move.

But due to finding out that Spotify also includes audio books and only allowing myself to listen while sewing… Tambo Star was a top faster than ever acchieved ;)

Progress: Tubes
started Q3/2021

sewed the backing and finished basting

NEW: Scrappy Gems

I started prepping an ombre version of Scrappy Gems as my main project for a sewing retreat in April.

It is the first retreat in many years, and I am so excited!

I feel like I might prep something else because I love simple sewing at a retreat, but then I better work on another “finish” first ;)

Progress: EADS
started Q1/2026

No new pictures yet, but a lot of decision-making and planning progress.

The EADS project was originally planned for my bedroom as a cover spread. It was for the bedroom in the old apartment, and actually for the bedframe before my current one. *insert eyeroll*

This is what happens when you keep a project unfinished for 5 years.

The style could have worked for my new bed and apartment, but it was no longer what I was looking for. So I decided to divide the top in half and pivot to two tops. I am keeping one as a “couch quilt” and the second one will most likely go to my Mom :)

So let’s update that WIP list…

#2026QuiltingPlanningParty

This winter was unusually hard for me health-wise. So while I might have hoped for more progress on some goals, I am happy with what I achieved. And actually ecstatic with what I just achieved in the last three weeks sewing-wise.

I hope to have a big pattern-push next :)
