I’m last minute in getting the post up for my own link-up party. Uuuups!
Even though it seemed like I was getting back into a sewing rhythm last we “spoke”, it was unfortunately a short-lived push around the sewing weekend – before due to prepping and maybe two weeks after due to getting the new blocks up on the design wall.
Since I have once again stalled. And sometimes, so far only very quietly in my own head, I have been wondering why I ever quilted. Is this something unique to me?
It is not that I have started to hate sewing or anything of the like. Just that something else is – or seems – more important. Though very honest, most of the time I plainly felt too (brain) tired. I am also really bumped that I have been missing the old feeling of quilting community.
So I am very happy about the new @sewcial.app launch and have signed up to try it out. It still has some glitches – which I think is expected in the beginning – but I will give it a month or two and see how it develops.
If you have been yearning for “the old days” of community, give it a look and maybe try it out. It requires a small monthly fee of around 2$ but there are no advertisements in the feed. I think that is a fair tradeoff. 7-day free trial option available to give you a first glimpse.
And no, I am not sponsoring, I am just really annoyed with IG ;)

Sewing Progress
Progress & Finishes
My EADS and the Tambo Star quilt are almost on the way to get special quilting treatment at the longarmer. Otherwise, I have been working on these two projects :)

Progress: Cabin Flowers
I managed to solve a pressing issue during the sewing weekend and finished three of the blocks.
And call me crazy, but that “hut” reminded me of Hagrid … I have been playing the Harry Potter board game too much recently, I guess ;)
So let’s update that WIP list…

This was a mixed quarter. And it fits with what life normally is around here. A curve of high intensity and low (to no) progress.
How did your quarter go? Please do link up as I would love to read more about what is happening in your sewing room & life.
Best wishes,
xo Melanie

I can definitely see Hagrid’s hut in the photo, too! As for the SewcialApp, I thought about it but think that with the fee it is not accessible in a way that makes me comfortable for the larger community. I still think following blogs is the best choice. :) You are definitely not alone in wondering why you sew or quilt, and we all have ebbs and flows of interest and creativity. What matters is that you enjoy it most of the time (I mean, the seam ripper is needed by us all sometimes) when you do choose to spend your precious time occupied with fabric and thread.
I think that your projects are all lovely, amd it is an impressive amount of progress. Have a great week.
I had to go see if I remembered to check in – ha! I say progress is progress. Life might just be so full that the brain power for sewing isn’t there. Hoping you can find ways to allow yourself that time, and that you enjoy it.
